WALK ON THE WYE SIDE
We find that when people stay with us at Llwyna Farm some choose to simply amble around our fifty six acres of rolling meadows enjoying the wildlife, stunning scenery, fresh air and sense of peace. Others take on one of the many local footpaths. Ordinance survey map 14, Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean covers this area.
The Lower Wye Ramblers have spent ten happy years exploring the local area and have published 16 local circular walks. These vary from approximately 2 miles to 13 miles.
The Wye Valley Walk is a 136-mile (218 km) trail of stunning scenery and varied wildlife. The walk runs from Chepstow to the source in Plynlimon. Chepstow is only 13 miles from Llwyna Farm. We can give our guests a lift to and from stretches of the walk between the areas of Chepstow and Monmouth. This should be arranged at the time of booking. For more information on The Wye Valley Walk please go to www.wyevalleywalk.org.
Offa, King of Mercia built Offa’s Dyke between 757-796AD, a man-made boundary that runs between England and Wales. The trail that follows this route is approximately 177 miles long, starting at Sedbury Cliffs near Chepstow and finishing in Prestatyn, North Wales. For this walk we also offer our guests transport to and from the stretch of this walk between Monmouth and Chepstow, again please arrange at the time of booking.
